Surface Treatment Process
Our surface treatment process is based on a rigorous and controlled approach, ensuring consistent quality at every stage. From part preparation to final inspection, CEFER relies on strict protocols and advanced technologies to guarantee a flawless finish and long-lasting corrosion protection.
1.Analysis
âš™ Client Needs Analysis
Understanding before producing Everything begins with a careful understanding of your needs. Our technical teams review your plans, constraints, and objectives to propose the most suitable treatment solution for your parts and their final use. This stage includes the technical study and feasibility analysis, the selection of the optimal treatment (cataphoresis, epoxy, etc.), as well as the development of the production plan and timeframe estimation. The goal: to deliver a customized solution perfectly aligned with your industrial expectations.
2. Sandblasting
🧱 Preparation & Sandblasting
A Clean Surface: The Foundation of a Successful Treatment Before any coating, it is essential to carefully prepare the metal surface. Sandblasting removes impurities, oxidation, and old layers of paint, ensuring excellent adhesion for subsequent treatments. At CEFER, we use different media — corundum or stainless steel — depending on the type of metal being treated. The roughness and cleanliness of the surfaces are strictly controlled in accordance with industrial standards (from SA 2.5 to SA 3). The goal is to achieve a perfectly uniform, clean surface, ready to receive the desired finish.
3.Treatment
đź’§Cataphoresis Coating
High-performance corrosion protection Cataphoresis is an electrolytic deposition process that provides uniform, durable, and highly effective protection, even in internal or hard-to-reach areas. Thanks to our fully automated treatment line, we ensure a consistent coating that meets the most demanding standards. This process allows us to treat up to 450 m² per hour with a coating thickness of 20 µm, and accommodates parts up to H 1.8 m × L 1.5 m × W 0.85 m. It is compatible with a wide range of metals, including steel, aluminum, copper, and cast iron, making cataphoresis an ideal protective base before applying finishing treatments.
4. Painting
🎨 Epoxy Powder Coating
Aesthetic finish and exceptional resistance Epoxy powder coating enhances corrosion protection while providing a clean and aesthetic finish. Applied by electrostatic spraying, the powder is baked in an oven, resulting in a hard, uniform, solvent-free coating. Our 60-meter painting line, equipped with 66 hooks, can treat parts up to H 2.2 m × L 1.2 m × W 0.6 m, with coating thickness ranging from 60 to 100 µm. A wide selection of colors and finishes is available — matte, glossy, textured, and more. This process offers excellent resistance to impact, wear, and corrosion, while being environmentally friendly. It is suitable for all types of metals, including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
5.Quality
🔍Quality Control and Delivery
The CEFER guarantee: zero compromise on quality Every part treated at CEFER undergoes strict quality control before delivery. Our teams verify technical compliance, coating quality, and visual finish, ensuring full traceability throughout the treatment process. Inspections include adhesion and thickness tests, visual and dimensional checks, and corrosion resistance tests (salt spray). Once approved, parts are carefully packaged and delivered within the agreed timeframe — ensuring total customer satisfaction.
